My name is Anton Kern. I have been Senior Pastor at Hosanna for fifteen years now after twenty-two years of ministry in Texas, mostly around the Houston area. I’ve been married to my wife, Irene, for forty years now. We have two children, a boy and a girl, and one day I woke up and discovered that I was the father of a thirty-year-old, but don’t feel nearly that old.

I enjoy photography and gardening, and my pets are the wild birds I feed in my back yard. They are quite entertaining and work hard at keeping my backyard from becoming a hunting ground for the neighbor’s cat.

I was installed as the new Associate Pastor at Hosanna in February of 2011.  My wife, Theresa, and I moved here from the Hickory area of North Carolina and we have 2 grown children.

I grew up in Burlington, NC and graduated from Elon College, majoring in Biology.  I am a trumpet player, and toured the country with the Emanons, the Elon jazz band during my college years.  I was an officer in the Marine Corps and spent most of my active duty time serving in the Orient… Okinawa, mainland Japan, South Korea, and Guam.

I graduated seminary in 1994 and have served churches and ministries in North Carolina and upstate New York.

On April 17 I was taught how to properly “suck the head” of crawfish at Hosanna’s Crawfish Boil. I love Louisiana.
